Incomplete Entry

Notes for this session are partial. The Note Taker missed this session and only one player's notes are available. Details of individual combat encounters, loot, and the second-level pocket dimension are unrecorded. This entry should be expanded when additional notes become available.

Session Summary

The Scorned Eight entered Agnus the Maw's Galder Tower and were instantly transported into a pocket dimension — a vast, unsettling forest where the ground beneath their feet felt like wet flesh. One harpy had escaped into the tower ahead of them. Deep in the wood they encountered Tarian, a half-ent who revealed he had once been a wood elf before the hag transformed him; he warned the party they were in danger before tree spirits attacked. The spirits bled sap from which flowers sprouted as they fell. At some point a staircase descended into the pocket dimension leading to a deeper level, which the party navigated before eventually reaching Agnus the Maw's lair — where the session ended.

Recap

Another surge from the Witch's Maw nearly swept Alias away — Obold hauled him back by thrusting out Z'Daria Nix for him to grab. The party pressed toward a green glow spotted by Kormak's birds and ran into a patrol of trolls with lizardfolk handlers. Lois's Fireball and Ofie's Spike Growth shredded the patrol before it could close, Thorin banished a surviving troll and the party finished it on recall, and Obold emerged from his own smoke cloud having missed a jump over the spikes entirely. After looting 250 obsidian trade tokens and a set of gold necklaces — and Obold claiming a troll tusk — the party rested, then moved on the green tower itself. Two harpies guarding the entrance charmed several party members with an offer to remove their pain, claiming Agnus the Maw was inside. Before the song could take hold of everyone, Ofie struck a harpy with Call Lightning and Thorin silenced the rest. Drake riders swept in and tried to carry off three party members; Obold misty-stepped onto the drake holding Lois, kicked its rider free, and crashed it into the ground. Lois fireballed the remaining harpies. The party stood at the tower entrance as the session ended.

AI Summary

Partial Summary

This summary is reconstructed from a single player's notes. Scene order, combat details, and the second-level pocket dimension are not fully documented.

Into the Tower

One harpy had slipped through the tower door before the Scorned Eight could cut her down. They followed through the entrance of Agnus the Maw's Galder Tower — and did not arrive anywhere recognizable.

The tower's interior was a pocket dimension. The party found themselves standing in a vast forest, enormous and still, with fog between the trees. The wrongness of the place was immediate and physical: the ground underfoot gave slightly with each step, soft and faintly warm, like wet flesh.

Tarian

Somewhere in the wood, a tree moved with intention and then spoke.

Tarian was enormous — not quite a full ent, but something between. He told them he had once been a wood elf, before the hag's power had taken him and bound him into this form. He was not hostile. He warned the party that they were in danger inside this place — that the forest was not passive, and that something was already aware of them.

Before he could say more, the attack came.

The Tree Spirits

Tree spirits emerged from the wood and went straight for Obold. They were strange fighters — when they were cut, the wounds did not bleed blood. They bled sap, and from each wound small flowers bloomed, so that the fallen spirits left trails of growth across the wet-flesh ground.

Other full ents were present in the forest as well, though their role in the fight is not fully recorded.

The Descent

At some point during the party's time in the pocket dimension, a staircase appeared or descended — the circumstances are unclear from available notes. It led to a deeper level within the pocket dimension. The party worked through whatever lay on that level and eventually found their way to Agnus the Maw's lair.

The session ended there.

Log

Player Notes

We just defeated the harpies who are guarding the hags layer and now we approach the entrance of the Galdur Tower (Agnus the Maw's). One Harpy made their way into the tower before we could kill her. As soon as we head into the tower, we teleport to a massive ey forest area where the ground feels like wet flesh, as we explore the area, a tree named Tarian awakens and speaks to us, telling us that we are in danger and he was once a wood elf who has been transformed into this tree. Before he can tell us much more, Obold is attacked by some kind of tree spirit, and we begin to battle them. Their blood seems to be a kind of sap that flowers sprout from.
