Session Summary
Returning to a restored Tidewatch Bastion, the party received a Dark Daggers appeal through Xanaphia and investigated blue lights north of their home. A guarded cave held cargo with obscured merchant stamps beneath the mark of the Gray Lantern Company. Magnolia Duvall also requested a favor, and Thorin retrieved his previously purchased Bolt of Paralysis.

AI Summary
Home Through the Fog
After passing through fog and rain, the party finally returned home to Tidewatch Bastion. The stone fortress looked more inviting: it had been thoroughly cleaned and repaired, with a vegetable garden and a new fence. A new wooden sign named the place; the notes render its wording as “tide watch bation.” Their dockmaster, Derek Coilrope, welcomed them home.
Another ship was docked in their bay: a small, sleek black vessel with dark sails and a silver dagger emblem. Several people were aboard. Looking through his spyglass, Alias recognized some whom the party had met on Obold's home island. The vessel was probably the Black Fang, based on the familiar crew and its captain's presence, although this session's notes do not name it.
On their way up to the tower, the party encountered Tobin Bramblefoot. Sitting at a picnic table was Xanaphia, described here as dark purple. She greeted them: “Well, well, the heroes finally return!”
“I was beginning to think I'd have to start charging your staff for my company. You've been busy, I hear. Giants, druids, witches, slavers. I'm starting to wonder if any of you even know how to take a holiday. You should probably take a holiday.”
She tried to charm Alias. He resisted and used Panache on her successfully, although he did not know it had worked. She then said, “We need to talk, and I'd like to do it where there aren't so many ears.”
A halfling woman, contextually identifiable as Hilda, approached the tower door. “Well, look what the tide dragged in.” Then: “TWO MONTHS, KORMAK. YOU HAVEN'T WRITTEN ME IN TWO MONTHS!?!” She also complained that the party had not left her enough money.
What the Household Had Accomplished
Baron had expanded the pantry and was experimenting with herbs from the property. Hilda had cleaned the place.
Tobin had cleared the courtyard and repaired the fence. The vegetable garden was looking good, and the barley field was taking shape. He had also planted an oak tree in Ofie's honor.
Derek Coilrope had repaired the dock and built a shack for ropes, sails, and fishing. He had bought a small rowboat and established relationships with local fishermen.
Garrick Stonehand had expanded the training yard. The notes list six dummies, archery facilities described only as “archeries,” and an arms rack. The guards had trained two local people who wanted to join the party's guard; their names and whether they had formally joined were not recorded.
Aldric had repaired doors and shutters. Two guest rooms had been furnished. Hilda had obtained a large wooden dining table that comfortably seated twelve.
Gunther took the groundskeeper, Tobin Bramblefoot, aside and tried to work with him on living arrangements for the owlbear he had brought home, contextually identified as Winnie the Who. Completion of those arrangements was not recorded.
Ofie looked for sugar, some fat, and other unspecified things. Her request was specific, and Hilda brought the requested supplies straight to her. Their intended use was not recorded.
Alias offered Xanaphia a guest room. She accepted, and he planned to meet with her later that evening.
Dinner and a Private Appeal
Everyone washed up, and their chef, Baron Copperpot, prepared an amazing stew. Everyone loved it; Xanaphia said it was the best stew she had ever eaten.
During dinner, while discussing a trip into town, the party heard that bad things were happening in Caer Callidier. Magistrate Edrick Voss, responsible for harbor permits and commercial shipping, had gone missing.
In a separate conversation, Xanaphia handed a letter bearing the Dark Daggers symbol to “him,” contextually Alias. He handed it back and asked her to read it. The letter conveyed a request from guildmaster Valan the Shade for the party's help with a growing concern of the Dark Daggers.
Southern Dark Daggers agents had been investigating an unnamed organization buying a large volume of captives. They had uncovered trouble with the organization: one surviving agent had seen a copper dragonborn commanding trained soldiers or agents. The dragonborn had been found connected to a powerful organization in the Underdark. The notes do not establish whether that organization and the captive buyer were the same group. The party recognized the dragonborn as a lieutenant of Ursula; his name was not recorded, so he is described here as Ursula's Copper Dragonborn Lieutenant.
Alias invited Xanaphia to stay as long as she liked. She agreed to remain for a couple more days. The letter's concerns remained unresolved in this account.
Three Blue Lights
A note under Obold's name concerned the merchant Korbin Pell, who had come to Tidewatch Bastion with acquaintances. It says “he” had seen “them” around the Bastion grounds without entering them, scouting a hill to the north. The observer and the precise membership of the watched group are not explicit. Korbin Pell was described as a human man with dark hair, ordinary height, and wealthier clothing.
Obold, Kaneko, and Gunther went to the hill to see what the men had been investigating. They saw three blue lights in a bay just north of the Bastion. Kaneko and Gunther continued toward the lights while Obold returned to Tidewatch Bastion to report to the others.
Gunther was too loud and backed off. Kaneko continued the investigation like a ghost in the night; nobody saw him.
A human man carrying a blue-lit lantern walked past, down the hill. The notes then describe “he” climbing the hill, almost falling, and nearly being seen, before walking up the road and seeing another hired guard at a cave entrance. The pronoun is not explicit, although the scouting context suggests Kaneko.
Looking into the cave, Kaneko saw a lantern roughly fifty-five feet inside and quite a few cargo crates. A moment later, he saw several people inside “shifting traits.” That wording is unclear: it does not establish whether they were moving cargo or doing something else.
The first man who had passed him began walking back. Kaneko withdrew to Gunther, “scaring the shit out of him.” They returned together and reported to everyone in the tower.
The Gray Lantern Cargo
In the morning, the party decided what to do and went to investigate the cave. Four guards stood outside. The party intimidated them and convinced them to allow entry, gave them five gold, roughed them up, and tied them up to make it look as though they had been attacked. The notes do not identify the payer or divide the five gold among the guards.
Inside were four dockworkers. Kaneko intimidated them into allowing the party to open some crates.
The party opened a few crates and found weapons, expensive fabrics, artwork, and a vase. All the crates bore merchant stamps. Larger stamps had been applied over those marks, covering and obscuring them; the overlying stamp read “The Gray Lantern Company.” The inspection did not establish the cargo's original owners or whether it was stolen.
Using an unspecified spell, the party made a copy of one of the paintings, then returned to their watchtower at Tidewatch Bastion. The caster and the copied painting's subject were not recorded.
A Note from Magnolia
Xanaphia left. After her departure, Elyra Fenbrook gave Tristan a note from Magnolia Duvall. “Tristan” is the player's name used for Alias in this passage. The account does not specify how the departure related to the promised couple more days.
Magnolia Duvall had stopped by hoping to see Alias. She said the fish stew their chef, Baron Copperpot, had made was amazing. She asked Alias to give a scare to the captain of the Red Gull Trading Company, who owed her money. The captain's name and the debt's amount were not recorded. Alias wrote back agreeing that the party would do it; the requested scare was not carried out in the recorded account.
Into Town
The party left for Caer Callidier. The town seemed very different from when they had left it, and much more peaceful. It was the later part of fall.
Thorin's Bolt: Retrieval and Historical Correction
An amendment recorded with this session corrects Thorin's purchase during the session dated March 15, 2026. He bought a reusable Bolt of Paralysis for 5,000 gold, paid upfront. The earlier notes had incorrectly given its price as 500 gold and described it as one-time use. The corrected limit is one use per day.
Thorin retrieved the bolt during this session, dated October 25, 2026. The amendment does not specify the pickup's location or its order relative to the other events. The purchase belongs to March 15; the retrieval and reported correction belong to this session.
